Recycling at Wild Oaks
Wild Oaks’ Green Team keeps us up to date on how to reduce, reuse, or recycle just about everything. Help keep Wild Oaks green and our garbage rates down!
Recycling:
Sanipac provides dark blue bins for comingled recycling—paper, tin, and some plastics (#1, #2 bottles, jugs, and jars*) and one bin for glass only. *See flyer below for types of plastic and other items accepted.
In addition, Wild Oaks provides black bins on the middle level for plastics Sanipac does not accept (#2, #4, #5 lids and tubs, such as yogurt containers); and block styrofoam (not peanuts). These plastics must be completely clean and free of labels and sealing material. (If labels will not come off, toss it.)
Compost
Compost Bins on each level are for organic waste—kitchen waste, cut flowers, and small yard debris. It gets turned into a rich garden compost as part of the City’s “Love Food Not Waste” program.
Household Items
Please donate (rather than dump) reusable household items (furniture, clothing, house parts, appliances, etc.). Below is a handy chart from BRING Recycling on “Where to Take It.” Or call them for info.
Where to Take It is BRING’s comprehensive guide on where and how to reuse, recycle, or properly dispose of just about everything—from electronics and appliances to paint cans, batteries, and household items.
